Rating 5 Top Bed and Breakfasts in Texas
While a good bed and breakfast doesn’t have to be about romance, they certainly can help set the mood!

Bed and Breakfasts, otherwise known as B&B’s, represent affordable places to rest one’s weary head while offering a real breakfast and true ambiance included with the price of your stay. As a leap from the traditional cookie-cutter hotels and motels, B&B’s are often housed in historical homes and buildings, and they lend a unique experience much different than other lodging. Since they are typically inside of large homes, each room often has its own unique character, theme, and/or name.

We traveled across our diverse state on our quest, so when you’re ready to book your next weekend away, consider these 5 top bed and breakfasts!

1) Sara’s Inn On the Boulevard, Houston

Located in the historical Houston Heights and on the Heights Boulevard walking trail, Sara’s Inn is the perfect place to stay if you’re ready to explore a fun part of Houston, without needing a car.

Originally a one story Victorian cottage, the home has been built upon over the years as it transitioned to a B&B. Each guest is pampered with a robe, down comforters and pillows, and breakfast is made to order each morning. With cafes, pubs, restaurants and antique shops within walking distance, park your car at Sara’s, and spend your weekend exploring this beautiful historic and hip neighborhood by foot.

2) O’Casey’s Boutique Inn, San Antonio

Sure, you can visit San Antonio without going to The Alamo, but why would you want to do something silly like that?

If you’re headed for the Alamo City, consider a night at O’Casey’s, located in the Monte Vista Historic District. Beautiful and historically charming, this B&B is located only ten minutes by car from The Alamo. Built in 1904, this house has had its assortment of famous guests, most notably, the former President Dwight Eisenhower!

Depending on your needs, rooms are offered as suites with king-sized beds, or a single room at a lower rate with full and queen-sized beds. Some rooms feature old claw foot tubs and private porches, while each guest is cooked a homemade warm breakfast in the morning.

3) Alla’s Historical Bed & Breakfast, Dallas

Heading to the Metroplex for a Dallas Cowboys game but you want to stay somewhere a little more quaint than a boring chain hotel, consider Alla’s! While close enough for your stay in Dallas, this B&B is actually located in Duncanville in an old brick home built in 1926.

Robes and slippers are provided to each guest, and Alla prides herself on her delicious homemade from scratch breakfasts. While a continental breakfast comes with each night, guests can upgrade (for an additional cost) to her organic breakfasts ‘fit for a king or queen.’ And if you’re here for a romantic getaway, consider using the private redwood cabana, complete with a relaxing hot tub!
